I would like to thank all of the people who sent their suggestions and commiserations . It turns out that in my case the problem was caused by a bit of an oversight. I had loaded the latest version of Acrobat Reader (5.0); however, I had failed to uninstall the older Acrobat Reader (3.0). Clicking on .pdf files was bringing up 3.0 as the default. Once I uninstalled 3.0 the problem did not happen with 5.0. Hope this helps someone else , Carole Original Message: Hi All! In our office we frequently exchange archview graphics that have been converted to .pdf files. Recently one of our offices got Archview 8.1 and can export the .pdf files directly from the program. When I try to plot these figures (from Acrobat Reader on a Win2000 Prof. machine to an HP800ps plotter) only the underlying images and the neatline print...but no text at all. I have only ever had this problem with these .pdf files. I realize this may not be an Arcview problem, but I am pretty much at a loss. They are large but memory in either the computer or the plotter should not be an issue. If anyone has any clues, I will be happy to sum. thanks, carole _________________________________ Carole A.
